New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Women’s Organiser, Mavis Hawa Koomson, has described herself as a peaceful person who, while respecting others, does not allow herself to be intimidated.

Speaking in an interview on Adom FM’s Burning Issues, Madam Koomson said she had never been known to instigate a fight, despite perceptions that she and her supporters are sometimes confrontational.

“I am a very peaceful person. I just do not allow people to intimidate me. I respect everybody,” she said.

The former Awutu Senya East MP challenged anyone who had heard of her personally starting a fight to come forward.

“Has anyone heard I have caused a fight somewhere? Never. I am a very peaceful person,” she stressed.

Madam Koomson said her conduct as Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East also reflected her approach to relationships, noting that she never had disputes with her constituency executives.

“As MP in Awutu Senya East, I never fought with my executives,” she said.

She, however, explained that incidents involving some of her supporters should not automatically be attributed to her, saying they sometimes react when provoked.

“If you hear my boys are engaged in any fight, it is because the person came to look for their trouble or misbehaved, and that doesn’t mean I’m the one who went to fight,” she said.

Madam Koomson maintained that while she is firm and willing to stand her ground, she does not consider confrontation to be part of her character.
