Ghana has been gloomy today as the nation sends home, Major Maxwell Adam Mahama. The state house, where the funeral took place has been filled with tears from family, friends, statesmen and even people who never met the late military officer who was lynched at Denkyira-Obuasi last week Monday.

Residents of Denkyira-Obuasi gathered at the spot the late Major Mahama was lynched and burnt to mourn him.

Wailing women have been asking the nation for forgiveness for the unfortunate incident which took away the life of a young husband and father of two whiles men look on with sorrowful faces.

  1. No you didn’t do well people of Denkyira Obuasi . Today you have caused the whole nation deep sorrow and bitter tears. You are also definitely having your share in the pains you have caused the family of the late Major Mahama and of cause the entire nation. Next time inquire into matters before taking action. And more importantly, never take matters into your own hands but report to the appropriate authorities and you will spare us further disaster.

  2. This sad episode should mark a turning point in our nation. The processing of healing from the wounds of this barbaric act will take time. Nevertheless, we must strive to look beyond the hurt and pain, and work to forgive the town folk.
