A 48-year old man, Kwasi Darkoh who portrays himself as doctor has been arrested by the Assin Fosu Divisional Police for allegedly carrying out illegal abortion.
According to the Assin Fosu Divisional Crime Officer, DSP Daniel Darteh a 20-year old girl (name withheld) nearly died after going through illegal abortion conducted by the suspect.
He explained that the suspect, popularly known as teacher applied oil on the vagina of the victim, covered his hands with gloves and dipped his hand into the womb and started pulling the foetus out.
DSP Darteh says the victim started bleeding after the incident and was rushed to the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu.
DSP Daniel Dartteh, advised the youths in the area to use condom to reduce the increasing trend of abortion in the area if they can’t abstain from sex.

Meanwhile, the suspect admitted to his wrongdoing and pleaded for forgiveness, saying he is a first time offender.
