The Police in Adeiso in the Eastern Region has apprehended 13 suspects who were hired to allegedly assassinate Chief of Adeiso, Osabarima Asare Oduro II.

The suspects who were armed with single barrel gun, ammunition, and a dagger invaded the Palace, slaughtered a sheep in an attempt to perform traditional rites to destool the Chief but the police foiled the operation and rounded up the suspects.

According to the District police commander, ASP Nathan Apraku Yeboah, investigation has commenced into the case.

He said the suspects made up of nine men and four women were brought from Accra by the destooled Gyaasehene in the area Nana Kwabena Yobo to revenge on his behalf.

He says the suspects could not achieve their aim because the targeted chief had traveled.

The Gyaasehene is also under lock and key and assisting Police in investigation.

Tension is, however, high in the community as the police patrol the area to keep calm.
