A ranking Member on the Communication Committee in Parliament, Alhaji A.B.A. Fuseini has said that the Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho lacks the capacity to orgainse Coup d’etat.

The NDC Deputy General Secretary was picked up Tuesday afternoon in dramatic fashion at the International Press Centre by plain-clothed men who did not give reasons for his arrest.

Adomonline.com has learnt the arrest has something to do with comments by Koku Anyidoho suggesting the Akufo-Addo led government will be overthrown just like his late father.
Anyidoho in an interview with Happy FM said: “On January 13, 1972 a certain Col. Ignatius Kutu Acheampong led a movement that removed the Progress Party from power. Busia was the Prime Minister and Akufo-Addo’s father was a ceremonial president. Somebody should tell Nana Akufo-Addo that history has a very interesting way of repeating itself.”
His comments appear not to have gone down well with the security personnel.
But speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Tuesday, Alhaji Fuseini said Mr. Anyidoho’s comment is harmless.

“How can you even arrest Koku because of this statement? His comment is harmless and so there was no need in arresting him in the first place,” he said.
He believes government’s action has rather energized the NDC party.

This notwithstanding, he said the Minority Caucus will join forces with the Ghana First Patriotic Front (GFPF) and all other groups who have so far registered their displeasure by expressing their unflinching support and participation in tomorrow’s march.

  1. The deputy general secretary’s comments has the support of ghanaians both at home and abroad because of akuffo addow’s attempt to sell ghanaians for slavely once again!!!. The government can not and should not survive!!!.

  2. Mr. Pete, you do not even know how to spell slavery. Mind you, Ghanaians will not tolerate any coup attempt from coup perpetrators like Koku Anyidohu.
    God bless Ghana

    • Nothing will happen to Korku. The most most stupid regime ever. US should go to Somalia, Rwanda, chat etc. The war zones and countries with serious viral disease and yet poor to help them solve their problems. Akuffo Addo am not surprised. He is evil and cursed.

  3. Infantile comment. How do you define being sold to slavery. Even in your ‘so-called’ sold to slavery, you have access to internet to post a comment online. Joker

The europeans first came to africa including Ghana as traders but later colonies africa. So no Ghanaian should be happy about the recent development in Ghana because of politics. This agreement sort to use Ghana as a base to deploying troops to any africa country that US is not happy with and as a Ghanaian you are happy with this? Yes it is true that Ghana is the gateway to africa that is why US will use Ghana to distrue africa. Africans are really cowards!!

  5. Did Kennedy Agyapong had the capacity to cause war in Ghana when he was arrested and prosecuted for his comments in 2012? Hypocrisy at its best.
