National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Yunyoo in the Northern region has given thumbs up to President Akufo-Addo for appointing 110 ministers.

Hon. Joseph Naabu Bipoba said the President has the mandate of the people to deliver thus “if appointing 200 ministers will get the job done, so be it”.

Huge public outcry greeted President Akufo-Addo appointment of 110 ministers to help him fulfill the plethora of electioneering promises to Ghanaians.

Out of the total 110, 20 are Regional Ministers and their Deputies, 40 ministers for various ministries, with 50 deputies.

By this number, the Nana Addo-led administration would have the highest list of ministers and deputies to serve in any government since the start of the fourth Republic.

Based on this backdrop, critics believe the large number of ministers will be a drain on the state purse – a position government has vehemently disagreed with.

But on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, Hon. Naabu said the appointment of 110 ministers by President Akufo-Addo is a necessary evil.

He indicated that the brouhaha over the number of ministers and deputies will mean nothing when they help revive the economy to its full potential.

Hon. Joseph Naabu Bipoba is convinced President Akufo-Addo will be justified by the end results of his administration.
