Hearts of Oak have officially named Serbian coach Nebojsa Kapor as their new head coach as the club begins preparations for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
Kapor takes over from Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, who parted ways with the Phobians after the conclusion of the 2025/26 league campaign.
The Serbian tactician has signed a two-year contract with the Accra-based giants, becoming the first major technical appointment made by the club ahead of the new season.
In a statement confirming the appointment, Hearts of Oak said Kapor’s coaching philosophy fits into the club’s long-term strategy of rebuilding and returning to sustained success.
The club described the move as the beginning of a broader technical restructuring exercise, with more changes expected in the coming weeks as preparations intensify for the 2026/27 campaign.
“The Board is confident Coach Kapor has the leadership and technical competence to lead Hearts of Oak into a new era of stability and success,” the club stated.
Kapor brings with him experience of Ghanaian football, having previously managed Division One League side Tema Youth before taking charge of Ghana Premier League clubs Bechem United and Medeama SC.
His knowledge of the domestic football environment is believed to have influenced Hearts of Oak’s decision to appoint him, as the club looks to build a competitive squad capable of challenging for major trophies.
The Hearts hierarchy views Kapor as a coach who understands the demands of Ghana’s top flight and possesses the experience needed to guide one of the country’s most successful clubs through its rebuilding process.
The Serbian coach will begin his tenure with a home fixture against Berekum Chelsea when the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season gets underway.
The new league campaign is scheduled to start between September 4 and 7, 2026, with the final round of matches set for the weekend of May 28–31, 2027.
