Gomoa Fetteh chiefs ban live bullets, motorbikes at 2025 Ahorbaa Kese Festival

Traditional leaders of Gomoa Fetteh in the Gomoa East District have placed a ban on the use of live bullets and motorbikes during this year’s Ahorbaa Kese Festival.

The festival, which has gained national attention for its unique Akoso-Dontoba dance, officially opened after traditional rituals and a community cleansing ceremony led by the chiefs.

Speaking to Adom News, the Omankrado of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Kwesi Quansah, said the restrictions are meant to safeguard lives and maintain order.

He cautioned that anyone found with live ammunition would be arrested and handed over to the police.

He also revealed that a designated parking space has been provided for motorbike riders to prevent accidents during the celebrations.

“We want to celebrate peacefully without incidents. That’s why these measures have been put in place,” Nana Quansah stressed.

Some sub-chiefs also appealed to festivalgoers to celebrate with moderation to avoid casualties.
