
The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has announced the disbursement of scholarship funds to 2,327 beneficiaries, covering the 2023 and 2024 academic years.
In a statement, GNPC management outlined plans to restructure the scholarship scheme into a more responsive, inclusive, and impact-driven model that supports long-term national development goals.
The GNPC Foundation noted that the new direction aims to align with global best practices while addressing local realities—particularly the financial challenges faced by many Ghanaian students in accessing higher education.
According to the foundation, the disbursement was executed with renewed efficiency and transparency, reflecting the new leadership’s commitment to reviving and modernizing the scheme.
“Our aim is to build a scholarship scheme that meets the highest global benchmarks in terms of reach, responsiveness, and impact,” the statement said.
The GNPC Foundation also encouraged students to stay focused on their academic work and strive for excellence, stressing the importance of discipline in making the most of the support received.
