The Ghana National Fire Service has commenced investigations into circumstances leading to the death of the wife, two children and mother-in law of the Dansoman SDA District Pastor.

The fire which gutted a six-storey building near Wesley Grammar school started Sunday dawn.

The deceased include mother-in-law of the pastor who was at their Dansoman residence to babysit her daughter’s one-month-old baby.

An eyewitness who spoke to Adom TV’s Rita Abrefi said, the occupants who were crying for help choked to death due to the smoke in the room.

He noted that, they were trapped by the security burglar proof at the entrance of the room and its extension, leading to their death.

Also, some occupants on the ground floor of the house who managed to escape the Sunday morning inferno say, they heard the cries of the five people before they were killed by the raging fire.

The Ghana National Fire Service has started investigations into the inferno which claimed five lives.
