Founder and Leader of the Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Nicholas Osei popularly known as Prophet Kumchacha has revealed they use the church’s tithes as monthly salary.
According to the man of God, it is not a sin to use tenth part of one’s annual income contributed by members for the upkeep of servants of God.
To tithe is to make a contribution equal to one-tenth of your income, usually to a church or religious institution. Devout church-goers usually tithe, even in years when their finances are very tight.
But some have questioned the essence of tithe especially when its use is not explained to church members who make the contribution.
But Prophet Kumchacha on Accra-based 3FM said tithe and offerings given in church are for the upkeep of pastors.
“If you come to my church, they use the tithe to pay me and the other pastors. We actually spend that money” he disclose.ur
The reason why they pay the pastors in church, he explained is to ensure the man of God stays truthful to members.
“Taking care of your pastors will make it difficult for him to lie to you. He will have the strength to pray to cover you. Blessing your pastor will also give you many blessings in return…” he stated.
But when asked how much he is paid monthly, he said: “my secret is my power and I don’t think I can tell you”.
“Church members who take good care of their pastors allow them to have a free conscience to reveal prophecies and pray better for them”.
Prophet Kumchacha also added that, after pastors have been paid their salaries, the rest of the money is used to support the prisons, hospitals and the needy.
