Deputy Chief of Staff, Samuel Abu Jinapor is assuring Ghana@60 anniversary celebrations will not be drain the public coffers.

According to him, activities lined up for the celebration which might include money will be “modest but elegant”.

Mr. Jinapor who is also the vice chairman of the newly inaugurated Ghana@60 anniversary Planning Committee revealed this on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday.

The 30-member Planning Committee inaugurated by President Nana Akufo-Addo at the Flagstaff House would be chaired by Ken Amankwah with representatives from strategic state institutions including the army and police service.

Among the terms of reference given them include working out activities for the Diamond Jubilee celebration of the country.

President Akufo-Addo also cautioned them to put the economic conditions of the country into consideration when planning for the celebration.

In support, Abu Jinapor said they would find intelligent ways of prosecuting the 60th anniversary to benefit the state.

“We will have an elegant but dignified celebrations taking into consideration the economic conditions of Ghana” he stated.

Abu Jinapor added that though a committee has been set up, suggestions from Ghanaians are welcome to making Ghana@60 an all-inclusive one.
