Skipper of the senior national team, Asamah Gyan, has finally opened up on reports in both local and international media that claim he is broke.

The footballer said he would sue all those behind the publications soon, hinting he is not broke.

The Kayserispor striker revealed on Asempa FM that the reports were aimed at tarnishing his hard-earned image and a plan by some bloggers to extort money from him.

He has, therefore, served notice that he would take on individuals behind such publications after he brings resolution to his marital issue, which is currently in court.

“Currently I am dealing with my personal and marital issues in court but all those who have reported I am broke should get ready to answer in court next including all those foreign media. I have labored to build my image and I will not allow any blogger anywhere to destroy it”, he explained.

The ex Al Ain forward, however, maintains that he accepts he is a public figure and everyone has the right to write about him but it must be the truth. He added that he personally knows those peddling the news of the said amount in his account with NIB Bank.

“I am a public figure and people have the right to write about me but when it is false I will not accept it. If it is about my performance in a game, I do not have a problem but when it gets personal, I will not take it lightly at all”, he fumed.

Asamoah Gyan is currently battling his wife in court after the prolific Ghanaian striker moved to annual his over a decade of marriage.
