The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that successful applicants from its recent recruitment exercise will begin regional onboarding processes from Friday, August 7.
The exercise marks the next phase of their employment into the country’s public education sector, with recruits expected to report to their respective regional offices to complete administrative procedures.
The Head of Public Relations at the GES, Daniel Fenyi, announced the arrangement in a Facebook post, where he provided guidance to newly recruited staff ahead of their reporting dates.
According to him, the onboarding exercise will run from Friday until the end of the month.
“From this Friday up to the end of the month, successful applicants in the just-ended recruitment exercise will be going to their respective regions of posting to begin their onboarding processes,” he wrote.
Mr Fenyi explained that the process will involve document verification, completion of employment records, and other administrative requirements before recruits officially assume duties at their assigned schools and institutions.
He advised applicants who have been posted to regions far from their places of residence to contact their respective regional education offices before travelling.
According to him, prior communication with the offices will help applicants obtain information on reporting procedures, required documents, and other logistical arrangements to avoid delays.
“Some of them will travel over a long distance from their homes to the regional office. To save part of the stress and ensure a fairly smooth process, successful applicants may want to first call the regional office on the phone to ascertain a few pieces of information before they travel,” he said.
The GES Public Relations Unit has also shared the contact details of all regional education offices and encouraged successful applicants to save the numbers of the regions where they have been posted.
Mr Fenyi further assured the recruits that the Public Relations Unit would continue to support them throughout the onboarding process until they begin receiving their salaries.
“As I said earlier, myself and the PR Unit will be with you throughout the entire process till your first salary drops,” he added.
