The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has described a Facebook and LinkedIn accounts purported to belong to the sector minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, as fake.
A statement by the ministry said, “the attention of the Hon Shirley Ayokor Botchwey, MP for Anyaa Sowutwuom and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has been drawn to the existence of a LinkedIn and Facebook accounts bearing her name and being used to dupe unsuspecting members of the public, both in Ghana and abroad.”

“For the avoidance of doubt, Hon Shirley Ayokor Botchwey is not on any social media platform and has neither Facebook nor LinkedIn accounts,” the statement added.
The statement, therefore, warned the public against accepting friend requests from these accounts on all social media platforms.
