Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has confirmed the repatriation of a Ghanaian musician Barosky from Manchester in the United Kingdom.
In a Facebook post, the Minister said the Foreign Ministry fully sponsored Barosky’s return to Ghana as part of its consular mandate.
According to him, Barosky arrived in Ghana safely last night and is being supported with psychosocial assistance as well as financial aid to facilitate his reintegration.
“I can confirm that we have repatriated Barosky and he is safely back with us in Ghana.”
Mr Ablakwa expressed gratitude to Ghanaians, particularly media personality Nana Romeo, for drawing attention to Barosky’s plight in Manchester.
“We are most grateful to our fellow citizens, particularly Nana Romeo, for bringing Barosky’s heart-wrenching plight in Manchester to our attention.”
He also commended Ghana’s High Commission in the UK for what he described as its impressive coordination of the repatriation.
“I commend our High Commission in the UK for their impressive coordination.”
The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to assisting Ghanaians in distress abroad.
“We strive to leave no Ghanaian behind.”
