Daughter of late Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, made her presence felt at Gomoa Mpota as she arrived in majestic style at her father’s funeral and burial ceremony.
Sarah Adwoa Safo arrived shortly after her mother, Ewurama Badu, had taken her place at the ceremony, despite the ongoing legal dispute surrounding the funeral arrangements.
Her arrival was marked by a display of tradition, amid the rhythmic beats of fontomfrom drums, cheers and chants from supporters, who hailed her as a “woman king.”
She walked into the funeral grounds fully protected by her security detail and some traditionalists as close family members and sympathisers gathered to receive her.
Adwoa Safo was joined by two of her younger brothers, sister and other members of the Kristo Asafo Mission who had gathered to bid farewell to the renowned industrialist.
The moment marked the fulfilment of a promise she made days earlier that the funeral would proceed “come what may,” despite a High Court injunction restraining the burial arrangements.
Adwoa Safo had maintained that her father deserved a befitting farewell and remained committed to honouring his legacy, a stance she has followed through with as the ceremony went ahead.
