A circuit court in Akuapem-Akropong in the Eastern Region has remanded into police custody, two of the eight suspects who were arrested by security guards at the presidential lodge in Peduase, last Saturday.
The suspects, Abdul Rashid Mohammed and Sowah were among eight(8) other suspects arrested by a combine team of combat 8 patrol team from Accra and security guards at the presidential lodge for posing as soldiers.

The principal suspect was apprehended in full military gear after security details became suspicious of his movements.
Regional police PRO, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh said Abdul Rashid was first arrested and detained, adding that seven others who were also in military uniforms and boots who had come to police station after hearing of the arrest of Rashid were also arrested and detained.

The suspects ,according to the police boss claimed to be among a group called UNITED ARMY formed by Rashid. They, however could not tell their mission .
The court today presided over by Charlotte Akosua Asem charged Rashid with unauthorized use of military uniforms contrary to section 1 ACT 67 of NLCD 177 while Sowah was charged with abetment of crime ,to wit unauthorized use of military uniform contrary to section 29/60 of the criminal offences act.

They both pleaded guilty to the offences and were remanded awaiting sentencing on April, 25.
The rest have been granted police enquiry bail because during investigation it was established that they belong to a cadet corp’s and had come to a town close to brekusu to mourn with a colleague who died.
