Sophia Horner-Sam, a former National Vice Chairperson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has died at the age of 77.
The veteran politician and diplomat served Ghana in various capacities during her public service career, including as Deputy Western Regional Minister and Deputy Minister for Ports, Harbours and Railways.
She later represented Ghana as Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, adding diplomatic service to a career spanning politics and public administration.
Horner-Sam was also a prominent figure within the NPP and served as the party’s National Vice Chairperson.
Her death brings to an end a career marked by active involvement in Ghana’s political and public service landscape, particularly in the Western Region.
She was regarded within the party as an experienced politician whose counsel and institutional knowledge contributed to the NPP’s activities over the years.
