Kofi Manu, Former Chairman of the Ghana Football Association Player Status Committee

Former Chairman of the Ghana Football Association Player Status Committee, Kofi Manu, has rubbished Congress’ decision to commence the 2019/2020 football season with 18 clubs.

The proposal was raised during last week’s Elective Congress which took place at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s SportsNite show with Enock Worlanyo Wallace, ‘Blue Boy’ as he is popularly called, said the teams that have been added have no reason to be part of the league.

“These are court rulings, King Faisal went to court and they were thrown out based on Supreme Court ruling; they wanted to put injunction. This was dated 20th day of November 2014 before his lordship Kofi Essel Mensah, Justice of High Court,” he explained.

The new teams included are King Faisal and Accra Great Olympics. The two are both deemed to have been victims of some acts of injustice and those acts led to their relegation.
