The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has stated that it is closely monitoring flood conditions at its Achimota Substation as engineers assess possible water intrusion into critical electrical equipment.
The Deputy Managing Director of ECG, Kwadwo Ayensu Obeng, said an inspection team has been deployed to evaluate the extent of the flooding and determine whether key infrastructure has been affected.
According to him, the exercise is a precautionary step aimed at ensuring that power is restored safely without risking damage to equipment or endangering lives.
Mr. Ayensu Obeng explained that ECG is working to restore electricity to residents in Alajo, Achimota, and nearby communities once it is confirmed safe to do so.
He assured the public that engineers are taking all necessary safety measures as assessments continue at the affected substation.
