DRIP Regional Coordinators cautioned against renting out equipment

The management of the District Road Improvement Program (DRIP) has held the first in a series of orientation courses for Regional Coordinators in the southern sector.

Speaking at the two-day orientation in Ada, Greater Accra Region, National DRIP Coordinator Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye emphasized the importance of understanding the program’s objectives.

Mr. Vanderpuye encouraged the coordinators to focus on improving and developing road networks to make them accessible to farmers, traders, schoolchildren, and community members. He urged them to see their appointments as a responsibility to serve Ghana.

The National Coordinator warned the regional coordinators against renting out DRIP equipment to private individuals or companies, cautioning that any equipment seen working without proper authorization would be investigated, and those responsible would face consequences.

He assured that the program is working closely with the police and national security to enforce this directive.

Mr. Vanderpuye also advised the coordinators to ensure proper documentation before sanctioning any equipment for use, emphasizing the need for accountability and transparency in the program’s operations.
