The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, received a delegation from the Dagbon Traditional Council, which formally informed him of the passing of Ya-Na Abukari II, the Overlord of Dagbon.
The delegation, led by Nanton Naa Bawa, also informed the Asantehene about the seventh-day Islamic prayer in honour of the late Ya-Na, scheduled for Thursday, July 24, 2026.
As part of the visit, the delegation informed the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, that a regent would be installed for the Dagbon Kingdom on July 31, 2026.
The delegation included Pishigu Lana Alhassan, Bamvim Lana Ziblim, as well as chiefs and elders of the Dagomba community in Kumasi.
