The District Chief Executive Officer (DCE) for Gomoa Central, Kojo Otoo, has appealed to the youth of Gomoa Brofoyedu to remain calm in the midst of sporadic shooting in the area.

The appeal follows an alleged gun battle between some armed men and police personnel of the Central Regional town.

Mr Otoo who spoke to Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem described the incident as unfortunate, assuring that efforts are underway to ensure total peace is restored to the area.

He also urged the youth not to avail themselves to be used as agents incite violence in the area as mediation is underway to ensure the issues that led to the chaos are resolved.

He also assured that the Health Director and District Coordinator will visit the injured persons to figure out how to assist injured persons.

The armed men allegedly launched an attack on the President of the Regional House of Chiefs, Nana Obrempong Nyanful Krampah and the Odikro of Gomoa Brofoyedu, Nana Esoun Abonyi Kwaatah II.

At least eight persons who sustained injures were rushed to a nearby hospital while the police arrested at least 10 suspects for interrogation.
