Residents living at Osu in Accra have expressed worry about the bad state of the Independence Square, otherwise known as the Black Star Square.

Portions of the Independence Square have developed deep cracks. The roofing leaks badly onto the seats anytime it rains. Again, the place is dark at night due to the non-availability of lights.

According to some of the residents, if nothing is done about the facility, the structure will one day collapse.
The residents, therefore, called on the government to renovate the structure to regain its past glory.
