Samples of staff of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH), including doctors, who came into contact with the 10 coronavirus patients in Tamale, have come out negative.
Public Relations Officer of the TTH, Mohammed Misbour, who confirmed this to JoyNews, said the results were received on Wednesday.
The police officers, who first came into contact with the patients are, however, yet to be tested.
Speaking from their hotel room in Tamale, one of the officers told JoyNews their samples are yet to be picked and that is a worry to all of them.
Background
Some 40 people, comprising some medical personnel of the TTH and staff of a hotel in Tamale, were quarantined following the recording of 10 cases of COVID-19 in Tamale.
It was believed that they came into contact with the 10 people, who tested positive for the COVID-19 on Sunday, March 29, in Tamale.
Mr Salifu Saeed, Northern Regional Minister, announced this at a media encounter in Tamale on Monday.
Mr Saeed gave details of the 10 COVID-19 cases saying, they were eight Guineans, resident in Burkina Faso, and two Burkinabes.
