Community Police Assistant reportedly stabbed in attempt to arrest suspected criminal in Ajumako Besease

A Community Police Assistant stationed at Ajumako Bisease in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region is recovering after being stabbed while attempting to arrest a suspected criminal.

Accra-based GhOne News reported that the incident occurred when the officer, identified as 25-year-old Obed Fynn, responded to a disturbance in the community.

Upon arriving at the scene, he reportedly spotted a man known only as Yaw, who is said to be wanted by police in connection with alleged criminal activities in the area.

Reports indicate that as Officer Fynn attempted to arrest the suspect, the man allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him before escaping.

The injured officer was immediately rushed to the Ajumako Bisease Polyclinic, where he is receiving treatment. Medical personnel say his condition is stable.

The incident has heightened concerns among residents, who are urging police to swiftly apprehend the suspect and strengthen security in the community.

Police have since launched investigations and are actively pursuing the suspect, who remains on the run.
