The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, says he is not bothered by people who mock him about his secondary education at Prempeh College.
Mr Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, says he would rather choose ‘silence’ over ‘response’ in the matter, noting that education was nothing if it doesn’t lead you into acquisition of wealth.
You know, sometimes silence speaks; if somebody thinks that you are an illiterate or you didn’t go to school, you don’t have to respond. At the end of the day, it’s about your pocket and how you’re living, he said.
Chairman Wontumi’s comments come not long after President Akufo-Addo had paid tribute to a long list of great products of Prempeh College including him.
On specifics about his times at Prempeh College, Chairman Wontumi said he completed in 1996 and was popularly known among his mates as Benghazi.
I was in Aggrey House, did economics, geography and AdMaths, he gave further details.
Established in 1949, Prempeh College has produced some prominent Ghanaians such as former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Education Minister Matthew Opoku Prempeh amongst others.
