The Confederation of African Football (CAF) after a disciplinary sitting on Sunday has banned Ghanaian referee, David Laryea and seven others from all football activities for life.

The decision was arrived at after investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas confirmed the rot in Ghana Football through his work titled Number 12.

According to a statement released by the African Football governing body, a total of 15 referees have been punished with David Laryea, who officiated at the 2013 U-20 World Cup, receiving a lifetime ban.

Reginald Lathbridge, Salifu Malik, Eric Nantierre, Cecil Fleischer, Ouedraogo Dawood, Akongyam Theresa and Wellington Joseph were also named and have all been handed 10-year bans.
