Chief Executive Officer of Ashanti Gold football club (Ashgold), Kudjoe Fianoo has said his club is still in talks with coach C.K Akunnor on his future with the Obuasi based club.
He indicated that, Ashgold is still the first option for the coach.
“I can confirm C.K Akunnor is almost with us”, he stated on Asempa FM’s Ultimate sports show Thursday.
Coach C. K Akunnor last season accepted an offer to help his childhood club survive the 2016/2017 league season but revealed he may not stay with the club next season.
But on , Mr. Fianoo said they are working assiduously to keep CK Akunnor as coach.
“I am yet to meet C.K Akunnor since he returned from….. but I am very positive he will continue with Ashgold next season. The club is his first option and I will sit with him tomorrow to discuss his terms” he said.
The former Dreams FC Manager helped Ashgold to finish 12th on the league table with 41 points in the 2016/2017 premier league season.
