Black Stars team manager Ameenu Shardow has been appointed Head of the Strategic Diaspora Programme, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced.
Shardow leaves his role with the senior national team after serving for more than five years, with the appointment forming part of the GFA’s renewed strategy to strengthen ties with Ghanaian players and football stakeholders abroad.
In his new position, he will lead efforts to identify, engage and build relationships with Ghanaian players born or raised overseas, while also working to deepen collaboration with diaspora clubs, academies and communities.
The GFA said Shardow will work closely with its Technical Directorate, Ghana’s diplomatic missions abroad, parents of Ghanaian players overseas, scouts and the National Teams Department.
His experience in team management and player relations is expected to support the association’s plans to improve talent identification and ease the transition of diaspora-born players into Ghana’s national teams.
The GFA also confirmed that a new Black Stars team manager will be announced in due course.
