Ghana’s 0-0 draw with Cameroon on Saturday has left them without a win at the 209 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) after two games.

The result leaves the Black Stars in a precarious position ahead of their last group game against Guinea-Bissau.

Ghana remain two points behind group leaders Cameroon, a point clear of Benin who face the pointless Guineans later on Saturday.

The big talking point before the game was whether captain Andre Ayew would recover from the knock he picked up against Benin in time for the game.

Ayew was eventually named in the starting lineup, with injury and suspension forcing Kwesi Appiah to make three changes from that game as Kwadwo Asamoah, Jonathan Mensah and Baba Rahman replaced Thomas Agyepong, John Boye and Lumor Agbyenyenu.

The Black Stars started the better side, dominating possession and creating the better opportunities early on.

Thomas Partey had the best chance of the early exchanges as he fired over from inside the box after running onto a cutback.

Ghana were looking quite dominant with Jordan Ayew, Andre Ayew and Christian Atsu causing the Cameroonian defence a number of problems.

However, the Stars were dealt a blow when Christian Atsu, after a strong run and shot, pulled up clutching the back of his thigh, potentially signalling a hamstring injury.
