Former Ghanaian international, Stephen Baidoo, has stated that the senior national team, the Black Stars, lack effective leadership on the field of play hence the shambolic performance in recent times.

The former Black Stars midfielder in an interview on the Ultimate Sports show established that it was difficult to play when there is no one to inspire the playing body.

For him, inspiration to play can be drawn from individual players or coaches.

“Everyone needs an inspiration or a reason to play. Real Madrid post-Cristiano Ronaldo is not the same, even though he was not the captain, his colleagues always drew inspiration from him and that took the team far”, he cited.

The former Samsunspor playmaker is also of the view that the Ghanaian media is fueling all the negativity surrounding the national team and the captaincy issue.

Stephen Baidoo believes the problem with the team is not with the individuals in the team.
