The manager for Beverly Afaglo has revealed that the late Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur passed away after a two-year battle with cancer.
Speaking to Ghana Weekend on Sunday, May 24, Abu Iddris said the actress died on Saturday night at the International Maritime Hospital in Tema at age 42.
“She’s been battling cancer for two years. It’s been a relentless war. She really fought hard, and this is where it ended,” he said.
According to Iddris, the illness began as breast cancer before spreading due to its genetic nature. Despite her deteriorating condition, Beverly remained committed to her work and family throughout her treatment.
“We shot things for her while she was undergoing treatment. The premieres, the promotions — she was undergoing treatment. She lived while doing her very best until the cancer really overtook her,” he said.
Iddris also revealed that Beverly had travelled to the United States for treatment and was advised to remain there given the advanced medical care available, but she chose to return to Ghana to be with her children.
“She chose to come be with her kids, knowing the situation. This is the kind of person she is. She chose to come see her kids and spend the last days with them at a cost,” he said.
Her death was announced by her husband, musician Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster of the Praye music group, in a social media post on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
