Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has promised to raise his game ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season, insisting he is determined to prove his quality once again.
The 34-year-old shot-stopper has enjoyed a remarkable rise in recent times, becoming a key figure for the Black Stars during Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign in North America.
Asare was named in Ghana’s World Cup squad and featured prominently, starting the group-stage matches against Panama, England and Croatia, where he delivered a series of impressive performances.
Speaking to the media, the former Great Olympics goalkeeper said he sees the upcoming season as another opportunity to demonstrate his ability and repay the confidence supporters have shown in him.
“This is the time to prove to Ghanaians that I can do it,” Asare said.
“Since this is my job, I have to prove myself wherever I play because of the love and support they have shown me. For now, Ghanaians should expect more from me next season,” he added.
Asare will now turn his attention to domestic football as Hearts of Oak prepare for their opening league fixture against Berekum Chelsea in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
His consistent performances have also kept him in contention for a place in the Black Stars squad ahead of Ghana’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, which are scheduled to begin in September.
