Former Chief Executive Officer of the Volta River Authority (VRA), Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby, has stated that he has no problems with “sex-before-marriage.”

In his view, the massive influx and the seeming acceptability of condoms is an indication that the world no longer frowns on sex-before-marriage.

“The pastors are doing it so? If sex before marriage is not to be encouraged, you wouldn’t have condoms and other tools for the prevention of pregnancy all over the place”, he explained.

Wereko-Brobby was speaking with Bola Ray on the Accra based radio station, Starr FM when he waded into the age-old controversial subject.

“Sex was fundamentally for procreation, but the minute you bring in condoms and other stuff, then you are saying that it’s just not for creation but for pleasure,” the outspoken engineer said.

Many churches prohibit sex-before-marriage and many Christian parents in Ghana insist on their wards, especially females to maintain chastity until they are legally married.
