The Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah, says the US-Ghana military agreement will invade the privacy of Ghanaians.
He said even though Ghana’s government has signed the laws in Ghana he fears it is the laws of the US that would be applicable, a situation he describes as worrying.

“Those agreements that we have ratified, if there is going to be a dispute, we will go to the US to resolve the issue so we sign a law in Ghana but the laws of America will be applicable.
“Americans will be driving in our country without licenses and then anytime they storm night clubs, they can easily shoot and go free. Also, since they would also have access to our radio spectrum and can even eavesdrop on couple’s conversations, it means they have invaded our privacy which is dangerous”, he said.
Bernard Mornah was speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on Wednesday.

Ghana’s parliament has ratified an agreement with the US where the later will be allowed unrestricted access to a host of facilities and wide-ranging tax exemptions to the United States Military.
But Mr Monarh said Ghana in recent times has been faced with serious security problems and as a result expect government to concentrate on how best to curb the security challenges in the country.

“The government has made us to believe that it is doing everything possible to protect lives and properties with the interest and well-being of Ghanaians at heart but the leaked agreement between the government of Ghana and the United States of America (USA) suggests the contrary”, he cried.
