There is mounting tension at Akyem Apapam in the Eastern region as traditional authorities there have vowed to use all means to oppose a proposed installation of a parallel chief by the Okyenhene Amoatia Ofori Panyin.
The elders and youth claim they have gathered information suggesting the persons from the Okyenhene’s palace, intend to install a new chief tomorrow without the permit of the kingmakers of Apapam.
They vowed to prevent the installation of any other chiefs.
At a press conference held in the area, Kyedom Panyin of Akyem Apapam Nana Poku Mintah called on President Akufo-Addo and Member of Parliament Samuel Atta Kyea to intervene to prevent any blood bath.
