Queen mothers of Wassa Amenfi East Municipality have expressed concern over the increasing rate of teenage pregnancy cases in the locality.

According to them, the situation has become a major developmental problem and called on all stakeholders to help address it, so as to create a brighter future for the youth.

They bemoaned how young girls being educated to be responsible adults get pregnant and dropout of school.

The burden is now on the parents who can hardily make ends meet – a situation , they say has tarnished the reputation of the municipality.

They made the appeal among other problems in the municipality when the Municipal Chief Executive for the area, Hellena Appiah organised a dinner to dialogue on measures to develop the municipality.

The queen mothers called on her to help them in educating the young girls on the dangers in engaging in premarital sex.
