Officers of the Ghana Police Service and Ghana Immigration Service in the early hours of Wednesday clashed over the arrest of some four Nigerians alleged to be involved in fraud at McCarthy Hills, a suburb of Accra.

The incident which happened at the full glare of onlookers was an eyesore as the two security agencies battled over who had the power to arrest the alleged fraudsters.

Head of Public Affairs for the Ghana Immigration Service, Supretendent Michael Amoako-Atta, narrating the incident on Adom News said they had a tip-off from residents of the area that some foreigners are engaged in some illegal business.

In a swift response to the information, they quickly moved in to arrest them only for the police to cross them on their way to take the suspects.

Supt. Amoako- Atta condemned the incident and called on the police hierarchy to punish the officers responsible.
