A former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is accusing the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) of supposedly re-commissioning already commissioned projects by former President John Mahama.
According to Bernard Allotey Jacobs, most of the major projects President Akufo-Addo visited last year were projects of the Mr Mahama administration.

Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show “Dwaso Nsem” Tuesday, Mr Allotey Jacobs said it was prudent that the government acknowledges its predecessors for commencing certain project rather than take undue credit for them.
“NPP should accept that NDC did a lot before they (NPP) came to power. Today, when they go on tours, they uproot plagues positioned on structures and then replace them with their plagues with chisel and hammer,” he alleged.
He cited instances in the past where the NPP government failed to give credit to their predecessors on projects they had done.

“The Greater Accra regional hospital and the University of Ghana Medical Centre which were started by former President Mahama were not credited to the NDC,” he noted.

Since it lost power in 2016, the NDC has been accusing the NPP government of taking credit for projects completed or initiated by them but the governing party has rejected all such claims.
