General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has admitted the supposed Prof. Kwesi Botchwey report circulating in the media is causing disaffection in the party.

Johnson Asiedu Nketia said members of the NDC implicated in the report are at each others throat due to the mischief being played some media outlets.

“We’ve taken a position that Kwesi Botchwey’s report is meant for internal consumption, so it has not been published anywhere. My worry now is why some leaders and supporters of the party believes these lies and have started hating on each other” he stated on Accra-based Okay FM.

The closely guarded report meant for only NDC members have been leaked to the media.

Portions of the voluminous document titled “Listening To The Voice Of The Grassroots” among other things blamed President Mahama and his appointees for the NDC’s defeat in the 2016 general elections.

The report also accused some Regional Chairmen of pocketing monies meant for the campaign.

These alleged claims in the media, Johnson Asiedu Nketia stressed are all agenda ‘cooked’ by the Akufo-Addo led government.

He indicated that, since the NDC is a threat to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) survival, they intend to create confusion in the party.

General Mosquito as he is popularly called said the fake Kwesi Botchwey report is indeed causing fear and panic in the NDC.

He however advised members especially the executives to desist from reacting to the allegations in the fake report.

“Members of the NPP are only using NDC leaders and they end up believing this fake document. They should desist from it because it won’t help the party” he advised.

According to Johnson Asiedu Nketia, it’s a deliberate ploy by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to create confusion within the party.

“The NDC leaders who easily believe this lie should know that they are in competition with the NPP therefore should be vigilant and not believe this fake report. The NPP is only using this issue to divert attention from important national issue”he added.

  1. According to Asiedu Nketia, the report has been leaked to the media. How can a document that has been leaked be fake at the same time? Readers’ judgment is as good as mine.

  2. When I consider the current developments in Ghana and compare them with some media headlines, I ask myself this question: Is it really “SENSIBLE” for any Ghanaian who does not SELFISHLY GAIN (conflict of interest I mean) from any political party affiliation to bother with the so-called KWESI BOTCHWEY REPORT, when we are still facing acute unemployment, internal factions and insecurity as the current happenings in Kalaga? LACK OF KNOWLEDGE MY PEOPLE PERISH – HOSEA 4:6. There is no CRITICAL ANALYSIS and CRITICAL THINKING in African educational curriculum. Therefore, the general Ghanaian perception of KNOWLEDGE is wearing a suit and speaking the English language fluently. However, John Dewey stated, “DEMOCRACY” as “a way of life, may be expressed, it seems to me, as the necessity for the participation of every mature human being in formation of the values that regulate the living of men together: which is necessary from the standpoint of both the general social welfare and the full development of human beings as individuals”. If the welfare of the majority of Ghanaians are being considered, will they burn police stations? DUE TO LACK OF KNOWLEDGE, THE FORTUNATE “FEW” WILL CONTINUE TO BE RICH, AND THE UNFORTUNATE “MANY” WILL CONTINUE TO SUFFER. Let us collectively find solutions to current issues and forget about so-called KWESI BOTCHWEY REPORT.
