Rev. Stephen Wengam has been re-elected as General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, after securing an overwhelming victory in the church’s 2026 elections.

His contender, Rev. Kwame Bansah, garnered 432 votes, representing 10.37%, while six votes, equivalent to 0.14%, were rejected.

The results give Rev. Wengam a strong mandate to continue leading the church for another term.

His victory was announced during the Assemblies of God, Ghana’s 2026 General Council Meeting under the theme, “Re-elected overwhelmingly as General Superintendent.”

Rev. Wengam, who is the Lead Pastor of Cedar Mountain Chapel in East Legon, was first elected General Superintendent in August 2022.
