Deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide, says General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, should be blamed for the recent attack on some party executives by a youth group in the Northern Region.

He believes Mr Asiedu Nketia’s immature endorsement of vigilante groups such as ‘The Hawks’, ‘Dragon’ and the ‘Lions’ among others is the cause of the attack.

Describing the attack as a disgrace to the NDC, he said the actions of vigilante groups have gained momentum because leaders of the various parties have failed to take the necessary sanctions against the hooligans.

“It’s disgusting and a disgrace to the NDC party especially Asiedu Nketia. He publicly endorsed these vigilante groups in the party,” he alleged on Okay FM monitored by Adomonline.com.

The attack resulted in the regional Secretary, Sualisu Be-Awuribe and Treasurer, Kassim Bakari, sustaining injuries allegedly caused by the vigilante group, ‘Al-Qaeda’ boys.

Although details of what triggered the incident remain sketchy, the Regional Secretary has accused the Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Mobila, of instigating the assault.
