Asante Kotoko have confirmed the return of former Communications Director David Obeng Nyarko, appointing him as the club’s new Brand and Partnerships Manager ahead of the 2026/27 football season.
The Ghana Premier League giants announced the appointment in an official statement on Thursday, July 30, ending weeks of speculation surrounding Nyarko’s return to the Porcupine Warriors.
“Akwaaba, David Obeng Nyarko! Welcome back to the Asante Kotoko family! We are delighted to have you rejoin the club as the Brand and Partnerships Manager,” the club said in a statement.
Nyarko is no stranger to the Kumasi-based club, having previously served as Public Relations Officer before rising to the position of Communications Director.
During his earlier stint with the Porcupine Warriors, he played a key role in strengthening the club’s media relations, improving fan engagement and enhancing its public image.
His latest appointment highlights Asante Kotoko’s commitment to expanding its commercial presence and strengthening the club’s brand as preparations intensify for the 2026/27 football season.
In his new role, Nyarko will be tasked with leading the club’s branding strategy, creating commercial opportunities, securing strategic partnerships and increasing the visibility of the Asante Kotoko brand both locally and internationally.
The appointment forms part of the club’s efforts to strengthen its off-field operations ahead of the new campaign.
On the pitch, Asante Kotoko will begin their 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign with an away fixture against newly promoted Debibi United.
