The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Dame Sarah Mullally, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, paid a courtesy call on His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
Accompanied by her husband, Eamonn Mullally, the Archbishop was warmly received by the Asantehene as part of her official visit to the Ashanti Region.

During her visit, Dame Sarah Mullally also paid homage to the Asantehemaa, Nana Yaa Akyaa II, reaffirming the strong relationship between the Anglican Communion and the Asante Kingdom.
The Archbishop further toured the Manhyia Palace Museum, where she was taken through the rich history, traditions and cultural heritage of the Asante Kingdom.
The visit aimed at strengthening ties between traditional leadership and the global Anglican Church while promoting cultural exchange.
