About two hundred aggrieved workers of the Forestry Commission have petition to the Minister of Finance Ken Ofori Atta to pay monies owed them.

The aggrieved workers are demanding immediate payment of their six-month stipends.

Leader of the group, Bismark Tetteh in an interview on Adom News accused government of breach of contract.

He explained that, their contract “explicitly states” the amounts they are entitled to be paid. However, the government, according to them, unilaterally has reduced their salaries.

Bismark Tetteh said assurances given them by the Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has not yielded any positive results.

The protesting youth, however, say they would lay down their tools on Friday if a favourable response is not received from the government.
