For someone who appears all fearless and strong, Bishop Kwabena Boakye Asiamah, popularly known as Ajagurajah, has admitted that he has had his fair share of heartbreaks.
The founder of Universal Spiritual Outreach has opened up about two relationships that ended painfully for him, including one in which a woman he loved became romantically involved with his own subordinate.
Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, Ajagurajah took listeners into some of the more painful chapters of his love life, recalling experiences he said tested his emotions and his ability to forgive.
One of his earlier relationships, he said, took a difficult turn after the woman became involved with a wealthy man.
According to Ajagurajah, her behaviour towards him also became abusive, as he recalled an occasion when she allegedly slapped him.
“She found a rich man and started misbehaving towards me. I complained and she landed me dirty slaps. A whole prophet of my caliber was assaulted. I was shocked. She left me and followed the man and eventually ended up pregnant. I was so pained and cursed her. I heard she, alongside her unborn baby and lover ended up dead.”
But it was another relationship that, according to Ajagurajah, caused him the deepest pain.
He said he had fallen deeply in love with the woman, only for her to eventually develop an intimate relationship with one of his own subordinates.
“The most painful breakup for me was a lady I loved so much. She got involved with my own driver” he recalled.
What makes the story particularly striking is how the relationship reportedly began.
Ajagurajah said he had asked the man, who was working under him, to drop the woman off at home. The seemingly ordinary favour, he said, eventually brought the two closer, with their relationship developing into something far more intimate.
When Ajagurajah eventually discovered what had happened, he said he chose not to confront either of them.
“I found out and they knew I knew. I didn’t even react, but they both left my church. They know my spirit doesn’t forgive betrayal, so out of guilt, they both left,” he added.
For Ajagurajah, the pain was not simply about losing a relationship, it was the fact that the betrayal came from two people he had trusted.
Despite experiencing the highs of love, his revelations suggest that betrayal remains the wound he finds hardest to overlook.
