The Ahafo Regional Coordinator of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sulemana Baba Amadu, has urged members to take advantage of government’s youth-focused programmes to improve their livelihoods.
He said initiatives such as the National Apprenticeship Programme offered opportunities for tertiary students to acquire practical skills and develop additional sources of income.
Speaking to Adom News at Yamfo in the Ahafo Region, Mr Amadu encouraged TEIN members in tertiary institutions to register for the programme and participate in the various vocational training opportunities available.

He was speaking during an event organised by the NDC Youth Wing to welcome first-year students of the Yamfo College of Health who had registered to join TEIN.
Mr Amadu said members could benefit from training in areas such as fashion design and hairdressing, urging them to make use of the opportunities to build their skills and improve their economic prospects.
Meanwhile, an aspirant for the position of Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser of the NDC, Razak Ahmed, has pledged to strengthen support for TEIN members if elected.

In an interview with Adom News, he said he would work to ensure that members of the network received greater recognition and the necessary support to improve their livelihoods.
He added that, if given the mandate, he would focus on strengthening the party’s youth wing across the region.
