Kumawood movie producer and director, Samuel Nyamekye, says the sidelining of actor Adu Kofi, popularly known as Agya Koo, in the movie industry affected his business drastically.

Speaking on Accra-based Onua Radio, Rev Samuel Nyamekye said he was the only producer who featured Agya Koo in mainstream movies and made lots of sales anytime he did so.

He noted, however, that “Movie Producers in Ghana couldn’t manage Agya Koo’s attitude…”

“The reason is that Agya Koo will go on location; he won’t spend more than a week on location and some directors and producers couldn’t compromise with this attitude and so they decided to look elsewhere for other options as in getting replacement.”

Samuel Nyamekye, who is one of the God fathers of indigenous movies in Ghana, has produced and directed movies like Asoreba, Evangelist Lil Win, Agya Koo Bank Manager, Ensi Aga, among others.
